display issue

I just did a clean install of xp on my dell 4600 and the display is not right. Everything is big and fuzzy. The font size is on normal and if I raise the resolution any higher than 800 by 600 everything gets chopped up looking and really small. I downloaded the latest drivers from nvidia but that didn't work. Any Ideas? thanks
 
Did you use the Dell Recovery Disk to reinstall?
If not, then install the drivers for this computer from the Dell site here (I'm assuming that by "Dell 4600" you are referring to the "Dell Dimension 4600"). Try the Video drivers Dell recommends/provides and also update/install the chipset drivers.
 
thanks. I used the xp reinstallation cd and dell resource cd for the clean install. I'll try what you said.
