Display on TV..

Hello, I am new here, and I have seen some very good posts around. This seems like a really nice forum. Anyway, I am wondering how to use my TV as a monitor. I have read around about it, and it seems pretty cool. There may already be a topic that explains all of this, if so, please show me where. I know the PC I am currently using most likely does not support it, but I am hoping to build a PC soon, or I could upgrade this one to support. This PC is a off the shelf Dell, and I also have a pretty old Gateway. Please let me know everything on how to set it up, as well as if I should just wait until I build a new PC to have it(also, please let me know what other parts are recommended to help support the display). Thank you

I have a RCA, old TV. Does it only work on some TV's, do I need HD or something? I may be getting a new TV soon, not sure what type or anything.

You just have to have a moderately good video card (something to have anyways) with like an S-Video or Composite output, and then you configure your drivers for TV output. It also depends on the TV, though, whether HD or SD and whatnot.
Edit: since you will have an older TV, make sure your RCA has an S-Video port and get a GPU with S-Video out.

Well, that is what I am saying. How would I go about configuring the drivers? Also, could you tell me some names of some supported video cards? Thanks

they sell vga to s-video or rca adapters, he can most likely do it with his current setup. not sure if the quality would be good or not, but possibly

Hmm...well, if I bought a new video card, that would make the quality better if I just went out and bought one of those adapters?
