Displayport or HDMI

Just got a new monitor and it came with both HDMI and Displayport cables.
I'd just like to know what one would be best for gaming, I've watched a few videos and essentially what they are saying is that Displayport is better if your using higher resolution monitors. Mine is only 1920x1080.

So yeah, my question is that will Displayport enhance my gaming experience in comparison to HDMI or is there going to be no visible difference.

Cheers guys

Either/or. You should be able to observe the same capabilities through either.

I've noticed that I seem to have fewer issues with Display Port than with an HDMI connection. HDMI seems more universal and as a result it always seems to take longer for my system to detect what's on the other end of an HDMI cable than with Display Port.

I don't really have any evidence to back this up with. This is just my opinion based on personal experience.

I'd say Displayport simply because it's "newer". Doesn't really matter though. I would agree that it's slightly faster to be detected in my experience.

If you have both, use DisplayPort. Unless you are running super high resolution and/or refresh rates though, you won't notice a difference
