Distortion on startup

Only when my computer has been sitting for a few hours and it is started I get lines on both black boot screen and blue Intel splash screen and pink hue in windows loading bar and some pink lines in clusters for about 20 seconds on desktop,then they go away.
It will not happen if I do a restart.
I have tried a new video card and also reseating RAM.
Please help.
 
it may be a dodgy vga or dci connection?
what gpu do you have?
do you have anouther monitor that you could test out? because it could also be the monitor.
I think it may be the connection on the monitor moving due to the weight of the vga cable.
 
I don't think it is the connection it only happens when desktop has been sitting off for a few hours.
I just tried lower resolution and letting it sit off for a hour and started and didn't get distortion.
 
Hmm so you say it still dose it with a different gpu??
If thats the case it could be your mobo pci connection or the monitor. What is the monitor??? Is it relativly new?
