dlink wireless network

i just bought a dlink wireless router(wbr1310)i dont have broadband internet i am useing dialup.

i want to set up the network. the laptop is wirelessley connected and the desktop hardlined.i want to acces the desktop throu the laptop and vise versa.but it wont let me i set the router up as normal.the laptop picks up and acces the wireless connection fine but i cant connect to the desktop.i see the desktop but cant connect. y is this.

you have to connect a Ethernet cord from the back of your computer to your router, then bridge the two connections, then just connect wirelessly from there

the desktop is hardlined.the laptop picks up wirelesey.i go thour windows to my network places and view workgroup computers i see both computer but i cant connect to the laptop with the desktop.it gives me an error.
