DNS issues in Windows 7

I've been trying to deal with the problem to the best of my ability, but it has become tiresome. For no apparent reason whatsoever, I lose my internet connectivity. When I lose it, I remain connected to the network but it shows "Limited Access" at which point I have to disconnect/reconnect over and over and over again until it shows up "Internet Access." Then I am able to reconnect. When I run the Windows 7 troubleshooter, it says there are DNS issues and nothing really happens after that. I have upgraded my drivers for my two wireless adapters, I have upgraded my router's firmware to the most current version. I have tried alternating both my USB and my PCI wireless adapter. I have never had these problems before where I live and my DNS servers in router settings are "Get automatically from my ISP."

Not sure where to go on this one and Google searches are too vague for my liking. Let me know what CF thinks!

well let's put windows 7 to the test. See if it lying or not. If dns really is the problem you should still be able to ping outside ip's. 216.239.59.104 is a google web server. If it's down try pinging it. Then check your ipconfig for your dns servers and see if those are still reachable. Also try pinging your router when your connection falls.

I did ping my router and had an active connection and I can still connect to the router's webpage when I have "Limited Access" It happens at random intervals so I'll ping google's IP the next time it happened. I thought about doing that last night, but I wasn't sure if it would be relevant enough to matter. I do know that pinging: www.google.com gave me a request timed out message. I'll give the IP a shot tonight though!

Have you tried resetting your modem and router? Sometimes that will solve issues like that.

Well, the newest information I have to contribute to this is that my computer does the following:

No more Limited Access but instead will just sit at: Looking up... www.google.com and never load. But then as soon as I hit Try Again, it loads up fine. Then I thought I would get creative and try to manipulate the problem as thereafter, google pulled up each and every time. I went to webcrawler.com - Looking up... www.webcrawler.com and then would load just fine. It seems as though once I've found the page, everything is fine but it's just this...looking up stuff.

Oh, and interesting to note about this, I was on a skype call the whole time, there's no issue with connectivity.

Update for anyone who is experiencing similar problems. I believe it was the adapter driver that was causing issues. I completely disabled and uninstalled all driver adapters and only installed my USB wireless adapter by specifically picking the folder to search for through the Windows discovery tool. Thereafter, I've had no connection issues at all.
