Do even new computere have glitches ?

I had an old laptop which had developed loads of niggles, errors and aspects that didn't work as they should.
Recently we've bought two new desktops for work and I've got a little Acer Netbook, all are running XP.
Now none of these machines has had much use, I've downloaded Skype, Crap Cleaner, AVG etc to my netbook and for example, 'Stand-by' mode was working fine yesterday evening, I left the machine on overnight as I was expecting a Skype call from abroad and this morning there was a fan going but the machine wouldn't wake. A hard restart brought life back into it, but stand-by won't work now, the screen goes black, the fan continues and the machine won't wake other than with a hard reset !
This aint the sort of think that I'd bother formatting the computer for, but are random glitches and niggles part of computing... even on new machines ?
Myself and my brother once bought identical laptops at the same time, his was a nightmare, froze all of the time, sometimes even during start up, he eventually sold it for spare parts after several format attempts wouldn't improve it. My machine however gave me 7 years of use for hours and hours each day

HAHAHA the good ol days... I honestly dont know now. I have a brand new comp and I have no problems at all...

Back then, yea, shit like that happened....

Man, we are humans. We always make mistakes, forget something and so on.
Also, we, the humans, created the computers and the operating systems. How do you expect them to be perfect? Nothing is perfect, right?

All operating systems and computer new or old all have at least 1 or 2 problems

I'm running vista with zero errors...

haha give it a while...

but onto your question, yes computers mess up quite a lot, my old toshiba gave me hell for a while, just randomly shut down, backlight flickered e.t.c its part of life, however i would like to think that they are improving. as long as ms of apple dont release their software too early we should be ok...
