Do I get a default OS from a motherboard?

Hello title pretty much sums it all up all im asking if i get a default Operating system with a motherboard i might buy

Some of, alot of, the Asus boards come with Express Gate which is a very light weight OS. Sort of. You can only go on net, skype, pictures and music (I think) and not much else, but it lets you use your computer. However to do so you have to install it from an OS, so you need one before installing it

so basicly for any computer im going to need to buy the os seprate like im on cyberpowerpc found a pc but it says Operating System: None - FORMAT HARD DRIVE ONLY wat does that mean

that means that hard disk has had all the data erased and is ready to install the os
you can get many free linux os's but you may have software compatibilty issues (for example most games wont work under linux)

if you want windows you will have to buy an original copy from somewhere

linux i hear aint good but i gusse its worth it to be able to play games decently can u tell me this whats the diffrence between quad core motherboard and a dual one

A motherboard isn't dual or quad core, the CPU is single, dual or quad core (or 3, 6 etc). I think you're getting the compatibility of the motherboard confused with the actual number of cores.

Linux is great, you just need to be willing to learn how to use it, plus it's free.

If I ever build a new computer, chances are, I would ditch windows-although i like it-just because linux is good. and free

Those are Windows-only games, but there are emulators out there.

I like both so I'm definitely going to have a linux partition...

Hm I wonder if it would just be better to have a separate drive for linux
