DO I have a DVD burner??

I recently bought a Dell Dimension E310 computer, and it said it came with a DVD+/-RW drive which means it can burn/play CD's and DVD's. My question is did I really get a DVD burner if it is displayed as a HL-DT-ST CDRW/DVD GCC4482 drive. I am wondering about this because I made a movie on Roxio Easy Media Creator 8, and when I went to burn it didn't work. Do I have the wrong type of DVD I am burning to? Plz help me out...
