He meant for single play. For multiplay yes, you have to have an account. Silver lets you play, gold lets you do quickmatch.

lol, you have to make a Halo account. It has nothing to do with Live.

Are you talking about the XBox 360 or PC version? The 360 version wants you to create a profile that you must sign into in order to play the single-player version. It's not a live account, it's just a player profile like most other games...

Same goes for the PC version, its just a profile, not a Live account. So the answer to the original question which was "do i have to sign into a live acount to play halo 2 on singleplayer???" is no you do not have to sign into a live account to play halo 2 singleplayer.
