im thinking of buying a sli mobo with ram and a cpu. unfortynately, ill have to buy a new fx card 2 then, cuz my fx5200 wont fit.
but i dont have the monney yet to buy 2 fx cards.
would sli work with a later bought card of an other brand, lets say a msi and a gigabyte fx6600gt?

Here's list I found, it looks to be accurate
1) The cards MUST be of the same type (eg. 2 6800gt's., 2 6600gt's)

2) The cards MUST be from the same manufacturer (eg. 2 XFX, 2 EVGA)

3) The cards DO NOT have to be the same revision.

4) The cards SHOULD have the same bios. Compatibility issues may arise if the bioses are not the same.

5) The cards NEED to be the same specifications on the box (eg. either 2 VIVO, or none VIVO)

And then there are your basics...

6) A sufficient power supply with a large amount of amps on the +12V rail (eg. >20)

7) A minimum of a 350W psu from a quality manufacturer (eg. Antec, E-Power, Enermax)

If the bios is different on your card, contact the card manufacturer, and they will help you locate and update the bios.

I contacted Nvidia, EVGA, MSI, and Leadtek about this, and that's what they said.
