Do I need 4GB?

Hey there,
I know next to nothing about laptops so I was hoping someone could help me out! I need to buy one but am a bit confused by all the jargon.
I'll be mainly using it for typing stuff into word and excel, internet, and for storing and playing music. I also want to have skype so a webcam is needed too. So enough memory for that would be good - also good internal speakers. I don't do any gaming and I don't download anything.
Could I make do with 2GB? Or should I pay the extra £60 or so and get 4GB?
Any recommendations on any laptops at the moment? Oh and a webcam would also be good. I'm looking at about £350-400.
Any info/ideas are appreciated!! Thanks

Dont get into laptops, so I cant recommend which one. But as far as memory, sure you could get by with 2gb. But at this point getting 4gb. would do you better in the long term.

I have a Asus Eee. net book. they all have wecam mostly. 3 gig would be in line. 2 gig will likely work well. Later you could put in another gig. 3 max with 32 bit.

you can probably fit something with integrated graphics and 4 gigs of ram in a 15.4 inch form factor which would hold you off for a while, honestly i dont recommend a 'gamer' laptop because i feel the fact heat + electronics = failures, and its just asking for trouble.

wont be uber powerful, is recertified, but is as good as i can see on newegg without grabbing a lenovo with a celery stick in it, id trust asus with a laptop anyway even if it is recertified. Asus does good work, honestly both my 9800GTX+ cards are recertified i think, as the boxes have asus seals on them and appear to have come out of RMA, both work flawlessly.

Keep in mind to that you won't be able to use the full 4GB if you do not use a 64 bit OS. So it's kind of a wast to have 4GB if you're only running a 32 bit OS, which can only "see" about 3.5GB Max.
