do i need a Graphics card?

i just got a rather good wide screen monitor. now my question is-would i benefit from buying a dedicated graphics card just for regular sites and youtube?

Staf, you will more than likely not benefit upgrading from integrated graphics for general web browsing such as youtube.

what about watching dvd's on the computer?

I can choke up plenty of integrated graphics machines trying to watch full screen 1080p Youtube videos. It wouldn't cost anything to test it out. Here's an Avatar trailer in 1080p.
