Do I need a SLI board to run a "SLI supported" card?

No.
It will run fine on that board, now if you wanted to run two of those cards then yes you would need an sli board but to run just one that board is fine.
 
You won't have any problem running that card on the Gigabyte board. Good choice on video card by the way.
