Do I need Cat6A or shielded cable to reduced AXT from ADSL cable running next to it?

Hi, just a quick question.

I am running a 10m "Belkin hi speed internet modem cable" from my phone line to my ADSL router, but also I want to run a 10m LAN cable right next to it from the ADLS router to my computer (basically I am placing the router in a separate room to my computer, but still want LAN reliability.

With the two cables running side by side for 10m, should I get Cat 5E, 6 or 6A cabling? Shielded or not? 6A cabling has by far the best protection from alien cross talk, but I am not sure how relevant this is to domestic situations such as mine, or does it only really impact at corporation-level installs with many cables running together for much longer on cable trays?

Thank you.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. You really only need to worry when you have a data cable within a certain distance of an electric wires causing interference.

10m line and at home? To echo above, you could pretty much run whatever you want. I've got a cat5e line happily running @1Gbit. If you were running close to the max length of 100m and past some motors or something then it might make sense to get shielded cabling but otherwise you could probably get by with cat3 :P

Cool thanks guys. Looks like I'll be getting 5E for my purposes. Thinner, lighter, more flexible and cheaper.

Whatever's cheaper.

Any of those should run 10 gbit at that length (not that you have that interface but hey).
