Everytime at the black BIOS startu screen (on my IBM laptop) i keep getting the following two errors; "163" and "173" one means the time and date needs to be be set and the other means something about configuration data being lost. The worst error though is the following; "I9990305" which means no bootable device was found. I dont understand what going wrong, this happens everytime the computer starts, but one i set the time and date, and reset at the no bootable device error, the laptop wroks fine and goes into windows normally. How do i fix this? Does the CMOS battery need to be replaced? Any help appreciated

My first guess would be the CMOS battery, it sounds very much like it. For reference CMOS batteries ar usually CR2032's (in desktops, not sure in laptops).

Agreed... That does sound like a CMOS battery issue... Try to find a manual for the laptop. THey can sometimes use some rather odd batteries.
