I read that ram is used to store data that the cpu processes so if the cpu could processes more will it need less ram

I do not believe that is an accurate statement. The amount of memory on a processor is very minimal compared to the random access memory in modern desktop systems. For example the FX-8350 Vishera processors have about 16 megabytes of memory on the unit. Most modern systems have about 4,096 to 8,192 megabytes of RAM. The RAM is 256 times larger than the memory on that processor.
