The question is should I upgrade PC's. I only do occasional gaming anymore as I play on Xbox Live a lot of the time, but my PC is lets just say not up to the level it was a year ago. I mostly use my PC for running Visual Basic, XNA Express, Gaming, and Music and stuff.

Is it in your sig? If so then YES. Get a new mobo (ECS isnt good according to Motherboard 101)... New processor, and if you get another mobo and plan on ocing then new HSF. and a new psu.

PartsPC changes its prices every day:

The RAM is compatiable, and I THINK the Video card is compatiable.

Oh yeah, Abit is better than PcChips, Asrock, or ECS if you go here:

Its more expensive mobo but Abit it better than the other manufacturers.

Well, somehow I tend to think that it is not necessary as you are not gaming as much anymore... upgrading to give you better gaming performance would make more sense if you planned to play more on your computer than your Xbox.

As for your PC not being as powerful as it was a year ago... well that will always be true, but in the end its up to you to decide whether or not upgrading your computer will be worth your money.

I guess you can say I'm cheap or not too much into consumerism (is that even a word ?).

do we think you should upgrade?? well sit down at ur computer and try doing all the things u hope to do on it..if it doesnt cope then upgrade and if it works fine then ur sitting pretty :)

The only thing I would upgrade on your computer would be the videocard to a 7900GS or 7950GT then maybe sometime next year upgrade to a C2D or quadcore.
