Do you think this is a GPU problem?

So I have a GeForce 9600GT and I've been having some problems.

I recently set up a second monitor for my computer. The problem is that the second screen will randomly flicker, or go black, or show weird lines on it.

Another problem I've had was my entire system freezing. This occurs sometimes when I'm playing a game.

These problems only started showing up right after I set up the second monitor.

I was wonder what the problem could be?
Could it be that my GPU can't handle dual monitors? or is it something else.

Could be gpu overheating, download evga precision and report back what kind of temperatures it is showing under load. Could also try to set the fan speed higher with evga precision and see if that removes the issue.

Right now my GPU is at 39 C while a game is running.

Could you swap monitors to see if the problem moves with the monitor and again swap cables to the monitors in case of bad connection.
