Does a bigger power supply cost more run(as in electricity bills) if say your running the same components, so say u had 2 identical computers but the only thing different was the power supply lets just say a 300w and a 600w to make things simple(i know that you wouldnt usually use a 600w psu in one that only requires a 300w one)?

any electricity change would depend on the hardware within the pc not just the PSU that feeds it, but any change is highly negligible

If you are worried about the PSU using more energy, thus costing more to run.

You could get a PSU that fits in with the 80 power standard rule.

Like my Antec, it's 80% efficiant, meaning that it will waste less power, lowering the amount going to waste, lowering the electric bill and helping the planet out. :P

A power supply will only put out the amount of power required. In general, PSUs will be slightly less efficient when run at low loads, but the difference is only a couple of percentage points, and the actual efficiency of the PSU is a far more important concern.

Just to reiterate what others have said, the power of the PSU doesnt depict how much power the PC will use. Say you bought a 500W and a 1000W PSU, the power supply will only use what is needed by the PC.
