Does adding more ram help alot in gaming??

yes more ram can give your system quite a boost if you dont have much.

whats your syste specs.

I have a dell dimension 3000

Pentium 4 3.00 Ghz

cpu speed 3.00 Ghz rated at 4.49 Ghz

ram 512 Mb (2-256 Mb)

145gig HDD

intel extreme 2 graphics card ( gonna uprade card)

About the only reason you would get a speed boost from adding RAM is if you're swap file was being used heavily. I have 2GB RAM in my system and have my swap file disabled. Most of the time you're fine running without a swap file, and it really can increase performance as the harddrive doesn't have to work double-time anymore.

And I'm curious how you overclocked the processor with a Dell, and how you got it up to 4.5GHz...

they've got programs out there that do that sort of thing while youre in windows, not from the bios....where those programs are, i do not know :P

No it doesnt. It is a single Pentium 4 w/ HT running at 3.00GHz.

As for the memory, upgrading from 512MB to 1GB or 2GB would show a pretty significant boost in performance.
