Does anyone know what's wrong with this?

I have a customer who hadn't turned their computer off in months maybe up to a year, and the power went out so when it booted it would kick to a screen that said it wasn't finished installing windows, but that's not possible because they have had it for a long time, and bought it with vista on it, so i tried booting in safe mode, nothing same error, tried rolling it back, and now it won't even boot, when i try to boot that partition it resets the computer. I ran a chkdsk on it with minixp, and defragged it (49% fragmented) and still nothing, i can boot to their built in repair partition, but it gets an error too. Am I missing something extremely basic? I should mention that when i ran the built in repairs the first time it broke the MBR so I installed PLoP for now.

Usually when a pc is on and the power goes out, usually creates errors on the hard drive and the hard drive manufacturer's disk diagnostic utility should be ran on it.

Also in my experience leaving a computer for long periods of time is just a bad idea, my parents had a Hp desktop and out of all the desktops they owned it was the only one they would leave on and it failed them all the time, but on the same hand it might be because it is a Hp.

That's why it's a customer and not me. My computer is worth way too much to not turn off. My ssd will last forever if I haverhe option.
