does gateway really sucks?

I woul like to know because im buying a gateway m.XL laptop and I have seen many youtube videos with unhappy peaple talking really bad about the gateways computer support.
i want to buy this laptop because its powerfull and i got a 200 usd discount cupon.

Depending on what the laptop costs and the specs, $200 really isn't that much. You can get 30% off coupon on Dell laptops, and HP usually has deals with 10-15% off.

Yes they suck. I am Gateway certified and repaired thousands of gateways at my previous job. For the price they aren't that bad, but I saw a lot of them fail every day.

Gateway computers are okay. Not the best out there but are definitely worth the price.

No, they aren't that bad. I have yet to see a Gateway desktop with proprietary hardware (other mfrs are notorious with having proprietary motherboards and power supplies)...I think I take that back...I think I have seen a desktop Gateway (not a tower, but an actual desktop) that had a proprietary motherboard as it's only PCI slot was occupied by a riser card which served the CD drive and the sound and video cards. Oh well. Every Dell is proprietary.

HP and Gateway have been good with these kinds of things.
