Does McAfee VirusScan 9.0 have anti-spyware?

Hi folks,

I have McAfee VirusScan 9.0 installed on my computer. I'm not sure if it has the anti-spyware and anti-popup(adware) features. I really don't want to install half dozen anti-spyware/adware programs, because they could cause conflict.

At the same time, I'm a bit confused by the terminologies: McAfee VirusScan 9.0 vs McAfee Internet Security Suite 2005. Both programs are running on my computer. They were pre-loaded when I bought my Dell Dimension 8400 desktop PC. How are those related to each other?

It does have anti-spyware included, see here. There won't be any conflict between anti-spyware programs, I'd recommend you get Adaware, Spybot and MS Antispyware as well, you can't have too much protection. The mcafee security suite is an all-in-one package with firewall, antivirus, spamkiller, etc, see here.

That about says it.

I'd go with something else than that McAfee though... Anti-Vir is free for home use as a download, and it works awesome!!!
