Does Merging 2 Partitions Delete The Data In It?

Hi,

I'm about to partition one of my hard drives in to two, using Paragon Partition Manager 9 Special Edition, such that one of them will be empty and the other will have all the files. If after some time, I wish to merge the partitions back, again using Paragon Partiton Manager, would I lose all the files in the hard drive?

I haven't done the partitioning yet, but I wanted to make sure before I did. Any comments will be very much appreciated. Thanks!

(I'm using Windows XP Professional by the way, 32bit)

As long as the second partition remains empty, then no. Later on if you want to merge them you can delete the empty partition and extend the used one out to whatever size you want.
