Does SLi Mean No Crossfire?

SLI memory just has extra guaranteed EEP profiles settings other than the SPD settings. Has nothing to do with if you run SLI or CF video cards.
 
Yeah, i was wondering how in the world SLi had anything to do with RAM or compatibility, but it never hurts to make sure. (Especially if it would have been a 70$ mistake)
 
I put a sticker on some old ram and it magically became ddr3 and really fast....

Same theory with 'SLI ready' ram, take regular ram, slap on sticker, jack the price and its magically faster, better, and optimized for SLI setup.



If I can give one piece of advice--Never underestimate the power of stickers!

If it's the SLI Ready tag I think it is, it's got nothing to do with SLI (other than sharing the name).

Confirmed, it's a handy-dandy little marketing ploy designed to trick first-time builders. Sometimes, if the RAM company isn't totally cold-hearted, it auto-sets voltage and timings for you. But really, all you have to do is either know how to set RAM voltages/timings/frequencies in BIOS, or be clever enough to google it.
