Ok, I have a Dell computer nothing really nice, it has intel. And it is really slow, its pretty old too. Everytime you pull up a website it takes forvever and it gets like literally 50 pop-ups. So I am assuming it has a virus. Would getting a new motherboard solve my problem?

No, I would back up any vital data right now, then start looking into virus/spyware issues. 9 times out of 10 performance issues are software related.

what you need to do is back up everything.

chances are spyware/virus removal wont help you now as windows files are likely to be corrupted.
once everything is backed up, if you really need to save anything that is.

turn the computer off. put your windows cd in.
turn the computer on.

it will start the cd windows installation.
it will remove EVERYTHING ON THE COMPUTER. including the virus's and spyware.

problem solved.
