Does The Nividia Geforce2/3/4 Series Support Dx9???

Requirements for Need For Speed UNDERGROUND 2. Say:
CPU: Pentium III 933 MHz or higher
RAM: 128 MB or higher, 256 MB or higher for XP
OS: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
HD-space: at least 1000 MB
Graphics Card: 32 MB or higher, DirectX 9.0


I have everything except the DIRECTX9.. i have it on the OS, but is the Geforce 2/3/4 series support DX9? On the Nivida web it says the Geforce FX5200 and the Geforce PCX 5300 support it, but does it support it AGP, PCI, or PCIE? thanks!


So mainly: Does the GeForce 2/3/4 support DX9. Thanks
 
No they don't, I think the Geforce 4 MX 440 only supports DX7, I don't know about the TI series though, but I think they should go up to DX8. The FX5200 chip has both PCI and AGP models, I don't think they have a FX5200 PCI-E model. I can definitely say with 100% certainty that the FX5200 supports DX9 because I had one before. ;)
 
I ran Need For Speed Most Wanted(which is newer, right?) on a Geforce4 MX 440 and a Radeon 8500 once. As long as it's on your system you should be fine. Don't exact it to run wonderfully, but it should work...
 
plz tell u have at least a p4 cause it is saying it can run it but might not get u ny where. like the game f.e.a.r should work on my computer but it lags u cant even play
 
Underground, Underground 2 and Most Wanted can run on Geforce 2 MX on low settings

You don't need DX9 video card to run the game. If you have DX9 installed then the game will run, even if you have DX7 video card.

i have the crap unichrome integrated graphics, it runs all right, but the letters are blocks, the NO2 sign is saying this : $(QIR(GU#H%QQ. and other crap.but noone has answered my question, does geforce2/3/4 support Dx9? its yess and nos... i cant tell??? it says GEFORCE2 or HIGHER.... and it says DX9 compatible video card

I said to you that geforce 2 mx can run it. I had this card in my old computer.

geforce 2 is a DX7 video card but it will run need for speed undergorund

Someone did answer your thread if you actually took the time to read it. Common sense would tell you that if the Geforce 4 only supported Dx7, than the earlier ones wouldn't either. However, you can run later versions of DirectX on older cards, just without full hardware support.

GeForce2 series is DX7.0
GeForce3 series is DX8.0
GeForce4 MX series is DX7.0
GeForce4 Ti series is DX8.1

Actually most games now require pixel shaders, so you will not be able to play games that requires them on a MX440, I have tried to run Star Wars Commando on a MX440 - it doesn't work man.

And did someone just say they bought a geforce 4 graphics card? Oh man, what a waste of cash.
 
HAHA~ it works! and the diaplay is pretty good! i can get it to 1024x768 with 1/2 the detail and everything in the menues turned on and theres no performance decrease, slowing down, or ghosting!@!@!
