does this have effect?

If I remember correctly, a "web accelerator" is only something that decompresses images and info on a website so you ill get it faster. While it might boost load times, it makes all the images and such very low quality. I think using a browser like Firefox and tweaking it correctly is better than a "web accelerator", or using a browser liek Opera.

Someone tell me if i'm wrong here, I very well could be.

yups thats still what it is. its still surprising most people still dont get the logic behind that..

from netscape's faq said:
How does Web Accelerator work?

The Web Accelerator technology compresses text and graphics that make up Web pages and stores them in an area on your computer. When you revisit a Web page, not all the elements that make up the page need to be downloaded over the Internet, so page loading and Web surfing is much faster. Plus, with Pop-Up Blocker, you no longer have to wait for those unwanted pop-up ads to load.

are you currently using dial up? there is no need to buy the accelerator from netscape, it basically does what 4W4K3 says.. and if you really wanted it..

there are free ones out there that you can just download and install. theres no point when all of them do pretty much the same thing..
