Does this motherboard support X2 athlon?

Stats: ASUS A8V
Socket 939 for AMD Athlon 64/64FXS
Supports AMD 64 architecture that enables simultaneous 32-bit and 64-bit computing
Supports AMD Cool 'n' Quiet! Technology

Does it also support the DUAL X2 athlon chip because the X2 chips are Socket 939 just like the motherboard.
 
if it is the same socket then im sure that it will work. i doubt im wrong but there is always the possibility. i would wait around for some more opions but the dual core athlon processors are great.
 
My bad- this thread was suppose to be under motherboard section.

All that matters for a cpu chip to fit in a mother board is the same Socket numbers?
 
Dual core is suporrted on that motherboard begining with bios 205 but only certain X2. All X2 cpus are supported in bios 208 or after. Wrost case scenerio would be having to upgrade the bios to 208 or later.
