Hi, I have been looking into building a computer for gaming. I have all the parts picked out, and along with the casing and power supply it comes up to around $950. I was wondering if the specs sound good for gaming.

Core i7 quad-core 2.8Ghz processor
Samsung 1TB hard drive
6 GB DDR3 ram
Sony CD/DVD burner
GeForce 9600 GT 512MB graphics card
ASUS Intel X58 motherboard

Any input would be appreciated.:D

**EDIT** Well, does anyone thing it's a good deal?

Whoa, an i7 but only a 9600gt? You could save like $100 and go i5 and get a 4850 instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150337&cm_re=4850-_-14-150-337-_-Product

***EDIT***
Hm... then you'd have to change everything (MOBO and RAM)

9 Series? Bleeaaaaghh... I have a BFG Tech 9800GT. I'm planning to make it a PhysX card once I get a better card for primary. (can ATi cards have an nVidia card as PhysX?)

Looks good besides the graphics card, it will hold you back.

Well what would you suggest? I've been trying to keep it to the same mobo, so if you can keep it in the boundaries of that it would be great! this is my first time building anything other than a budget comp with parts I have laying around, so anything you have to say would be appreciated:D.

**EDIT** I am willing to move to a new series, or even a new brand, but the 9 series is just something I'm more familiar with, I have nothing against ATi or any new stuff from Nividia.

Well, if you want to go i5 instead, you're switching out that MOBO anyways...

All sounds good except for that sub par vid card.

I agree,But a 9600 could just tie him over until he can afford a better card,At least he can do some gaming...the 9600 isnt that bad....could overclock it too. :)

Yah, it would probably save me a bit of money to. I'd better get on that. :D

**EDIT**
So I've picked out a different mobo, and a i5 to save some money, may look into a different graphics card since I have a bit more wiggle room in the budget.

What would you be able to spend on a graphics card?

Overall I'd suggest either a HD4850/HD4870 depending on how much you have to spend. Ati already has the HD5xxx series out but from what i see they're beyond the range of your budget and in quite short supply right now.

Yah, I'll keep that in mind for later, right now I just want to do some moderate gaming, my current comp can't do crap.....
