The blue is for your standard CRT monitor, and most come with DVI to DB15 connections for duel CRTs(or cheap LCDs :P)

CRTs are typically better for gaming due to the higher refreash rates and no ghosting due to slower responce times. Though, if you find an LCD with a responce time less than 12ms, it will usally game quite well...

Yes, every card you'll be looking at can be used with CRT's (most newer high end cards uses an adapter).

Generally no, but it's a matter of taste. High quality LCD's comes with a much heaftier pricetag, that and the fact that you'll want a more powerful videocard with it to guaranty sufficient acceleration at the LCD's native resolution, again more money.
