I don't know never used vista, and when I get it I'll turn all that crap off, just like I do in XP.

It's how to windows come up and go away, and also how you drag it. If you have Ubuntu, select maximum eye-candyness and you'll see what I mean. When you drag a window in Ubuntu by its title bar, the window "distorts" like a Super Mario video game. It's cool at first, but after you've been on your comp for more than 1 hr, you start to get nauseated by it. Urgh....

Anyway, I don't use Vista, and Compiz has much more distortion...ness? -idity?, and I never have a problem with it. Fading, water, fire, snapping, rolling, cubing paneling, walling, jumping, wobblying, ringing...it's all good. I have it enabled so the fading isn't too much too fast, but very gentle, very subtle - unless you were actively watching it, you wouldn't notice it happening.

i dont see anything wrong with aero, sumtimes when maximizing the window freezes but about half of a second
