my computer has worked perfectly for a couple of months now. but then i stopped using it for about 3 months. when i turned on the power in the back, the led lights on the motherboard lit up as usual and it showed an F on the led thing. then i pressed the power button but absolutely nothing happened. I checked the pins and everything was in order. I heard that u can start ur computer by putting a screwdriver in between the pins to start ur computer manualy. is that true?


Specs: Abit AN8 Motherboard, AMD 3500+, sapphire x1900xtx, Antec Smartpower 2.0 500watt, Corsair XMS DDR400 1gb memory, Creative audigy 2 value, 80gig hard drive, 52x cd drive and a dvd drive.

Try another PSU if at all possible. That's usally the first to go.

i just bought this one. when i press the power button. it doesnt do anything. no beeps that something went wrong in post and no noises. i think its a connection problem with the power button

Have you tried another PSU at all though? Even new ones are faulty out of the box sometimes.

i had the same prob... you can jump out the pins. i think its 14 and 15 not sure though that info is available. if the psu doesnt start after jumping it its defective..
