Here we go again your help needed.I have been bought Windows 7 and as my computer has it installed already can i install it on the wife's laptop.What is involved,she has Vista and would like to try W7 64bit also whats the benefits.Cheers.

32 bit will recognize approx 3.5 gig mem. 4gig or higher install 64 bit. you need retail to install and buy a key from microsoft. not oem, like hp or gateway etc. You will need from the manufacture of the netbook or laptop all the drivers. 64bit if available for windows 7. they might work the drivers from vista 32 bit. check at the site of manufacture. as to buy a key ya might want to just consider from your manufacture laptop if a cd for windows 7 is available. then have a dedicated installation cd and or recovery disk.
i would say drivers will be biggest problem supporting windows 7.
