Hi guys.

Still trying to get to PURE DOS MODE to update my VBIOS.

Gigabyte has got back to me saying that the only way is to create a dos boot disk on floppy and copy the vbios update to that. Lol sadly haha I dont have a floppy drive.

Does anyone know how/where I can make a dos boot disk but on cd or dvd? lol

Cheers.

OK I downloaded and made a dos boot for cd. However when I boot to dos. IDE CDROM drivers dont work or something (probably cause im on sata)

And I cant get to my C:\ to find the Vbios file. I tried putting it on the boot disk, but that just makes the boot disk not work.

Any ideas? Is there a site were i can download the whole dos opperating system like I had back on my 286 back in the day?

Cheers

Download a boot disk, create an image of it, burn said image to CD

or

google the ultimate boot CD it should have several versions of DOS on it

Yeah ive done the boot disk thing from the above website, however I couldnt access my C: to get the Vbios update file etc.

DOS environments can not write to NTFS partitions. You may need to boot off a PE (preinstall environment) disk.

If you are flashing the bios on your video card you don't need to access your C drive.

But thats where the Flash file is? I cant seem to get it to work when I put the flash file on the cd etc.

Am I missing something? Ive never flashed a bios or vbios before so I may just simple not no what im talking about ahaha, but the instructions from Sapphire was to simple type say "c:\flash\flash" and it will run the bat file??

Cheers

the flash file probably has to write to itself, and it is read only off a CD. You can search NTFS to DOS and maybe find a utility out there, or you may have to boot off a flash drive which you can write to.
