i got a new hp laptop, i downgraded it from vista to xp. Then i tried to download all the drivers from the manufacturer website. After everything was installed, there're still 3 unidentified devices
1. Coprocessor....mine is a athelon x2, does it mean that only 1 cpu is ****ing work??
2. other PCI bridge device
3. SM bus controller.

and i notice 1 thing, my ethernet card is not working.

guys, i dont have a vista restore disk, any ways to fix this?

Co-Processor typically refered to a math coprocessor. At least previously it did... Windows should have it's own drivers for this, but there may also be drivers for the CPU such as AMD's duel core drivers.

The other two should be included in driver packs. If not everything is included from the website, try finding what chipset you're running and getting the original drivers. CPUz should tell you this information.

As for the network card, it's hard to say if the problem is a result of bad settings or driver related.

HP should have XP updates available even for a new model since Vista is still new having been released at the end of January. What model do you have there. A good look at HP's support site should see a selector for choosing the version of Windows as well as the model.

If all else fails, you won't need a restore disc... just pickup a Windows Anytime Upgrade disc, available at a lot computer stores for free.. or through Microsoft for $7, and install the version of Vista that came pre-installed on your PC, entering the key (found on the sticker on your PC case) in during installation.
