Downgrade to XP

Hey all, i got an Acer 3050-1923, with vista, and i wanna downgrade it o xp, but it doesn't let me boot with the xp install cd, any thoughts about it will be appreciated, thanks!
 
what you'll want to do is go into the bios and check to see that your computer will allow you to boot to the cd drive. It probably looks to the hard drive first as this saves time. Set the cd to be looked at for bootability before the hard drive, that should let you boot to the windows xp setup. If you don't want to do that there should be some key that you can hit when it posts to give you a list of devices that you want to boot to. Just pick cd drive from this list and that should work as well.
 
I had the same problem with my Vaio FZ140e, It was letting me boot onto the cd, however the xp sp2 disk would not read my hard drive? and since i opened the package to test the cd, I could not return it, so i was out $99!
 
i've the same problem with my girlfriends laptop... it said it won't install xp because i already had a newer version of windows installed...

format your hard drive with some util boot cd
after that you can do with it whatever you want
