Downloading AV

Hi,
I am about downloading AV since Norton trial is running out in 7days.
I came up with some questions(as usual:P)

Is it ok to install in D drive?Or all the important apps should be in C?
Because C drive is smaller and is getting full.
I installed Superantispyware and it definitely slowed down my computer, too.
So I kind wanna move Superantispyware to D drive too, if possible.
(if yes, move or re-install?)

Also,I am making the final decision to go for either AVG or Avira.(both free version)
I've got some concerns for each so I wanted to ask some questions to you guys.

Avira-does it take a loooong time to update? my connection cut off all the time so would it be an issue for me???

AVG- when there is a possibility of false positive, is there any support that I can send the file to them to find out see if it is infected like Avira?

Sorry that i maybe asking too much!lol
But you know,i am learning from this forum(you guys!) A LOT sure:)

How big is your hard drive? Do you have 2 physical drives or just one drive partitioned into 2 separate drives. If you want to move programs from one drive to another you would have to uninstall it and then reinstall it to the D drive.

my hard drive is 250GB with 2GB memory.
I believe there is one drive...but I am not too sure though...how do i find out?
it says C: 43.9GB D: 181GB.

If you think Superantispyware is the cause of your system slowdown (possibly), then uninstall it. Moving it will do you no good. However, the free version has no active components, and you do not have to let it run on start up for the program to be of use to you. Just un-check the preference box that says "Start SUPERantispyware when Windows starts." Then, just launch the program when you want to run it. Quit it when you are done.

Both AVG and Avira are decent free AV solutions. Both programs have relatively small definition update files and shouldn't take long to dowload. What kind of internet connection do you have?

For reporting false positives with AVG, read over here.

Thanx! so there is for AVG too.good to know.
the reason why i asked about Avira update was because I have read that it takes over an hour. some ppl says so in a forum, and i have read an article(they tested and wrote a result.)
i use Telus wireless it is really not good.i have complained to them but no fix...
