Downloading Drivers

Can you guys please tell me how many ways there are to updating drivers?

I know that you can install a program that downloads for you and install it, however, I dont like these programs, is there a way I can manually download the driver and install it?

I want to download the newest version for my Graphics Card which is a Radeon HD 6770 and my laptop is HP Pavalion dv6 notebook pc

I entered this "HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC"

and I got many results, how can I view my model number? I read the "how to" on that website but it didnt work any other ways on how i can view my model number?
 
A few things here.

You need to find out the full model number of the laptop before searching for it. Should be listed on a sticker on the bottom of the laptop. I wouldn't update drivers unless you are having a specific issue that an update would solve. If all you need is the video driver then you go to and website to get it, HP won't have it.
