Downloading errors

Well, I've got a very annoying problem. I can download stuff. But, when I go to install it, there's almost always hang ups - usually saying the file is corrupt. It's usually only big files. At first I thought maybe it's just certain servers, but it happens with very popular (and trusted) sites. Any idea as to what could be wrong?

Thanks

What kind of connection are you using? I remember having the same problem back when I was still using crappy dial-up.

You might be having intermittent internet connection which corrupts the files. Try using a download accelerator.

Broadband? Are those downloads you running right off a temporary download? Or saving them onto your computer first then running them.

If you are using a download manager, try download it again without it because all download managers do is split the downloading into pieces, causing corrupt files possibly.

I just built my computer, up to date to the best of my knowledge. I have broadband, and I don't use a download manager. :(

Is there anything I should try reinstalling to fix this? Thanks for your help.

No, it's most likely not your computer, but the site itself.

I know you said that you have tried other sites, but have you tried trying to download the file on another site?

Yeah, I've tried on different sites. It seems to be mostly bigger files. I don't know what the deal is.
It may be that depending on the type of file and who's sharing it, they can all be sharing the same type of file, which is probably corrupted.

How are you going about downloading them?
