Downloading files?

I use the DownThemAll extension in Firefox to download files I find, usually music files on peoples sites or something.

But, everytime I download .mp3 files (usually in large quantities) they appear on my harddrive without the file extension.

Say I download "song03.mp3"

It shows up as "song03" and has a broken file image enxt to it.

I have to go and manually rename each file and add ".mp3" to the end. Once I do this, the little WMP MP3 icon appears next to it, and it plays as it should.

Very annoying, especially when I download 200 mp3 files, and have to manually rename EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE!

I've never used that, but if it's say a consecutive download renaming deal, do you think after the first got thrown off, the next ones did too? Might you somehow be starting it wrong?

All I know is there's a problem on my laptop with Photoshop. When I save something, it first defaults to Untitled.psd. When I switch to a JPEG, the file name still is the same. Unless I removethe psd, it leaves that extension and doesn't add anything else. Not even .psd.jpg...

Another thought, which might help me too... Have you tried enabling or disabling "Hide extensions for known file types"? I think that might case the problem with mine, so maybe checking or unchecking that would help...?
