Downloading programs and ram

I just got a brand new laptop and want to keep it running as smoothly as I can. I want download a game which is about 10gb's big. If I download this game, use it for a bit, and then delete it after a month or so, will my computer still run as fast as it did before I downloaded the game? Or will there still be a little lag or something left over even if it's off my harddrive.

How much RAM and HDD space have you got?? If the game requires more that what's available when you install it (HDD Space) or play it (HDD space and RAM), it's going to lag the system.

i have plenty of space and stuff left, but someone recently told me that even when you delete a program or something off your hard drive, it'll never be as fast as it was before you downloaded it.

The only thing that you have to worry about is hard drive fragmentation. Meaning your hard drive will be scattered around once you remove the file, which can be easily fixed by defragmenting your hard drive. Other than that, no your laptop will not suffer in any way.

alright, this is pretty much what i was looking for. thanks for the replies!:)

you will want to defrag the HDD before and after you install the game. same goes for uninstalling/deleting. It just makes it so that it installs non-fragmented.
