Downloading/uploading A LOT

Today I downloaded a traffic monitor to my PC to get an idea of how much data I use. It has only been running a short period of time (maybe 10 mins) and has already downloaded 1.7GB and uploaded 130MB without opening the Internet and with Windows updates turned off. As I can see there is no software that is downloading updates and my antivirus is not detecting any threats. The computer is on a large network, but I also have the software downloaded on another PC on this network and this is displaying an average amount of download/upload data.

The computer is running Windows Vista and Panda Internet Security 2014.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I'd be suspicious of the monitor.
1.7GB in 10 minutes doesn't seem right unless you have the fastest connection in the world.

I was thinking that to start with but it is running fine on the other computer.

Also I have had a look through the firewall log and seen a LOT of connection attempts from the IP in the range of 100.153.50.. - 100.153.70..

Check to see if you're losing available space on the hdd.
If you really are downloading it has to go somewhere.
