Downloading/Uploading Question

I am downloading at 27mbps but downloading at only 14?

My Macbook Pro downloads at 42mbps and uploads at 32mbps.

The upload i'm not so worried about on my PC but the downloading bothers me. I am assuming it's low because of my poor signal strength. But my Macbook has 100% signal strength in the same spot as my PC!

I updated Firmware AND drivers for my PCI Wireless Adapter and router. No improvement at all. Linksys couldn't do anything to fix it either.

It's only 20-25 feet away from the router so this is very very annoying right now. There is a wall in the way but only directly. You can walk around the wall no problem and have a clear line of sight to the PC. So another words, walk 10 feet from the router and you have a clear shot of the PC and the router with no walls in the way.

Any ideas? Suggestions?

P.S. The antenna on the PCI Card can't face directly up because of the Monitor cables being in the way. One is about 95% straight up and the other is at about a 45 degree angle.

Simply put, the signal doesn't walk around walls.

Also, wireless signal problems are very common and usually much worse than limiting your speed to 27mbps which is already 5 times my Internet connection speed.
