downloading video files

sometimes i have friends that send me links to funny video clips. How can you save the clips? some let you save them some dont.
 
if u right click the link and select "save target as" it will allow u to save it to your comp. if it does not, this means the file/video is protected and u cannot save it, only view it.
 
if its a regular video file, most of the time you can right click save target as. or u can view its source and get the file. if its a stream, u can't download it. u will need a different program to download streams. if the video is playing in a windows media player, u should be able to right click and check the properties for the file.
