greetings,
anyone have any experience with drive image? i know it is now discontinued and another company bought up the rights to it. here is my problem;

....drive image (by powerquest) when installed, asks that 2 floppy discs be made for the program.....i have no floppy drive in this system (not yet anyway!) for this to occur...

....so, has anyone made or could tell me (by using drive image only) how to copy a drive image backup of my hard drive to a dvd disc/drive w/o actually having to have the 2 diskettes the program wants?...

....i am unsure how to do this or even if it can be done w/o the diskettes....

....does the dvd that the drive image file is located have to be bootable?....

....any step by step procedures would help greatly..however, i really DO NOT need any responses that deal with using another hard drive back up program......thanks for any help you can give!

EDIT;..does nero have the ability do burn a complete hard drive image to a dvd drive?

Drive Image (PowerQuest) was bought by Norton. Some of the configurations that you used to see in Drive Image now appear in Norton Ghost. To answer your original question, there is a file you can download which does all of this on CD. I do not have the URL handy but will hunt it up in the near future. Drive Image gives you the option to burn to CD. I am not sure about DVD as I never tried it.

...thanks for the reply........i was aware that it was bought out and the product as i understand it, is no longer available.....i have norton ghost but, have not noticed that feature....i have already "ghosted" the system to dvd last night after i found out that drive image required a floppy drive.....if you come across the link, please let me know.
