Driver installation error

I just got my new computer put together and the OS installed, and I can't seem to install the drivers from the motherboard. I have an ASRock Z77 Pro3 motherboard. I am also having trouble installing the drivers for the Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 graphics card.

It seems to be running fine other than installing the drivers for those two parts. I'm not sure what I'm doing as far as computers go so I got help from this forum and my uncle when I bought parts and from my brother putting everything together, so simplistic answers would be greatly appreciated.

So what happens when you insert the motherboard cd to install the motherboard drivers? Does the same thing happen when you install the video card drivers from Nvidia's website?

I run the disk, click "yes" when windows asks if i want to allow the program to make changes, and a menu pops up. The only option on the drivers menu is install all and it gives me an error message: Access violation at address 00433D27 in module 'ASRSetup.exe'. Read of address 00000008. Different message, same principle when I insert the graphics card disc.

Yeah try the drivers on the ASrock support site. They're more up to date anyway.

I have no idea what I am looking for. I found a site that has downloadable drivers listed, but they are all for Windows 7, and I am running 8. The ASRock site says the Z77 Pro is Windows 8 compatible.

You may have either a corrupt install or bad memory. Try testing your memory using memtest.

http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm

Download the iso for cd, which is first link under windows images on that page. Write the iso image to cd and then boot to it and it will start testing the memory.

Nevermind this last post... I just didn't look in the right place. I'm going to google stuff for a while until I figure out whether I have a legitimate question or not.
