You may have downloaded the drivers for the finished product most likely and not the beta type originally available for RC1 and RC2 alike. With the beta program already finished for over a month now the support sites are now geared up for the retail releases of the five versions that will be coming out. With RC1 the ATI beta drivers went right on without a problem. Sound drivers also worked while no others were available.
well.. the Creative Vista drivers worked normally for me, and i did download the RC2 driver. (even tried multiple ones,.. all gave the same message :x )
ah well.. time to kick vista anf instal Xp again i gues
The stock drivers should work with Vista. I read on ATI's site that drivers are only available for RC1, not RC2, and the ones on RC2 are the most current. SO perhaps it's similar for you.
no.. SLI isnt enabled then.. sich kinda sucks well,... i kicked fista now, and running Xp pro again.. so i gues it doesnt matter... Vista looks really nice imo,.. but i dont want a pc that doesnt run right
The one thing to remember about the RC1 and RC2 releases is that they are "beta" not final releases of Windows. They were strictly for "evaluation only". This allows feedback to developers. Like any other version of Windows the full driver support for anything and everything shows up for the retail product. The idea behind the beta releases is to provide the "look and feel" and some idea of what will be offered when upgrading to the finished versions. RC1 was briefly tried here to have some familiarity with Vista before the new complete versions come out.
The beta program has already ended for RC2. You would be fortunate to still the beta drivers still onhand that will work with the retail versions about to be released soon.
