Drivers and tv monitor help >.<!

Need a little bit of help here, I just got a new computer and I dont have a monitor so I decided to hook it up to my 27 inch tv. I tried installking the drivers for my 4870 visiontek graphics card and it shut off and restarted and did leave a folder but not sure if they are there. I had a feeling it might just be my tv however may be something else. I am running windows xp pro service pack 2. Also my television is only coming through in black and white not sure why that is using a av jack connector and dvi connector I believe. thanks~

need some help please, after installing the drivers the computer reboots, I checked the device manager and it says its missing the vga controller and i tried updating it. Will get a lcd monitor here soon to see if thats the issue. However still not sure why this is in black and white if anyone has any idea it would be greatful thanks~

Do this. Go back into device manager and right click on the item that needs the driver and click on properties then click on the details tab. Give me the 4 digit vendor and device ID numbers. They look like this.
